MyExp is about sharing personal life experiences
MyExp.org is a website that offers two basic functions. You can browse and read about personal life experiences told by others, or you can share your own life experience with others by telling and submitting your experience story at MyExp. MyExp allows for this kind of personal sharing to be done with complete anonymity, but at the same time permits those who wish to connect with others through shared personal experience, to do so.

MyExp is a simple and easy to use website with two modes to choose from and an easy way to switch between the browse and submit modes via the two large tabs at the top, just below the site menu bar. There are many more engaging things that you can do at MyExp such as responding to or flagging existing entries, these are extra functions that are mostly self explanatory and are covered in detail throughout the MyExp Help page.

Red Flagging
Anyone can Red Flag any entry if it is believed to be a commercial advertising, writing of obscenity, hate, discrimination or any other illegal or immoral matter. Red flags show as small red circles with an X inside at the top right of the story for all to see, next to the circle is the number of times the story was flagged. You can read more about conduct and content ethics at MyExp in the "Conduct" page.

Through the power of Red Flagging given to anyone reading MyExp content, MyExp.org pledges to be a community based website that allows the MyExp community to take an active role in guarding and shaping the standards and quality of content and conduct at MyExp.org. Please use the right to flag at MyExp responsibly. It is a powerful tool allowing you to exercise your democratic right in protecting the values you believe MyExp should stand for.

Making beneficial contacts
Sometimes reading about someone else's experience triggers one's desires to contact the author and ask more about the experience, be it about recovering from an ailment, an experience with a hotel somewhere in the world, or anything relevant to the reader's current interest. MyExp asks every story contributor if the author is OK with being contacted by a reader, and if the answer is yes, MyExp will post an option below the story, allowing readers to send a message to the author. To protect the privacy of the author, the reader's initial contact message is sent to the author by MyExp without revealing the author's e-mail to the reader. It is then the author's choice to reply or ignore the message. As soon as a reader receives a reply from the author, both are free to communicate directly without the aid of MyExp.

Stories that do not show the contact option at the bottom, are those given by authors not wanting to be contacted. MyExp respects the wish of every contributing author regarding being contacted, and recognizes the real value in reading about someone else's experience even if readers cannot contact the author.
